Cinematic Interventions examines how films become embedded within collective memory and how particular images, scenes, figures, and actions come to organize their meaning. Working within existing cinematic texts, these projects alter, reconstruct, or displace the elements through which a film is most commonly remembered.
By modifying the punctum of familiar films, the works create opportunities to encounter them in new ways. Rather than producing new narratives, they interrupt established ones, revealing how cinematic memory is constructed, sustained, and transformed over time.
